Former President Michel invited to the 2024 Global Sustainable Islands Summit

The Executive Chairman of The James Michel Foundation, Former President James Michel, will be addressing Honourable Dennis King, Premier of Prince Edward Island, Honourable Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, and other distinguished guests and delegates at the Global Sustainable Islands Summit, at the invitation of Honourable Steven Myers, Minister of Environment Energy and Climate Action.

This year’s summit, organised yearly by Island Innovation, is co-hosted by theGovernment of Prince Edward Island and scheduled for May 21-23, 2024 at the Rodd Crowbush Golf and Beach Resort in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

The Global Sustainable Islands Summit is a premier event dedicated to advancing sustainable development on islands around the world, bringing together a diverse group of professionals, researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and students passionate about creating a more sustainable future for island communities.

The summit will be a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the exploration of innovative solutions, and the focus areas will include:

  • Policy frameworks and financing for renewable energy and cleantech
  • Sustainable transportation and resilient infrastructure
  • Energy efficiency and energy storage
  • Climate change adaptation and resilience building
  • Community engagement towards a low-carbon future
  • Innovation and technology for island sustainable development
